IT'S NOT OVER...
Vision
“Restoring Hope and Justice to Rwanda”
Hope Rwanda is committed to sustainable solutions to poverty, that lead to the restoration of hope and justice for the people of Rwanda.
The NEED continues...
The reality is overwhelming. Too often, too many nations suffer the indescribable horrors of war and genocide, and the devastating impact of poverty. Every single day at least 30,000 sons and daughters will die as a result of preventable causes. Every day in Rwanda, families are devastated, children orphaned, mothers infected and babies abandoned.
The ACTION continues...
While the 100 Days of Hope has come to an end, Hope Rwanda is only just beginning. Hope Rwanda is committed to continuing what the 100 Days of Hope started.
- Hope Rwanda believes that Education is key to breaking the poverty cycle. Already in 2007 we have seen our education teams travel to Rwanda to train primary and secondary school teachers. Additional Education trips are planned for later this year.
- Skilled and unskilled workers have continued to build homes for widows and orphans in the Village of Hope (VOH), with families now residing in the Village.
- On top of this, work is about to commence on a Community Centre, that will benefit not just the VOH, but the entire community in Gasabo.
- October 2007 will see Australian surgeons and nurses travel to Rwanda with "Operation Open Heart". Again they will perform many life-saving procedures as well as invest practical skills into the Rwandan medical community.
- Exciting new "Poverty Reduction Strategies" are currently in development, with news of these initiatives to follow.
